Hi.

I bought a router on eBay and according to the Canada Post tracking, the item was "successfully delivered to receiver" yesterday, but even today, there is nothing in my mailbox. So I contacted Canada Post and they said that the sender would need to contact them to issue a trace on the item. What exactly is a trace? I dont think the item was insured. In that case, what happens if Canada Post still cant trace the item and it is lost? Do I lose my router? Would filing a Paypal undelivered item claim get me anything? I am pretty sure the seller probably has proof that they actually shipped the item, but would Paypal still give my money back if the package was lost?

Buyer pays shipping insurance. If you didn't pay for insurance, you don't have any. Seller certainly has proof of mailing the item. Paypal will not give you your money back in this case.

Seller completed obligations. Notify seller and ask that he or she contact the post office to trace the item.

Paypal won't refund you if hes got tracking. Hope that they eventually find the package, or hope the seller is a nice guy

If Canadian "tracking" is similar to the USPS Delivery Confirmation, then you only have the Postal System's word that it was delivered, no actaul verification is made.

Does the tracking number list the address, or does it just say it was delivered? Perhaps the seller had poor handwriting or a typo on the label.
