Ebay suspended my account for spamming !!

I decided about 3 weeks ago that i would join the ebay revolution, i hadn't used them before, but i was looking for a memory upgrade for my laptop, and i thought i would see how much things went for on ebay.

So i registered, used the email account for my domain, and i could set it to forward onto my main email account.

Well after 3 successful auctions, where i won somethings, and was close to winning a bid on the memory i wanted (would have saved me near $80 from newegg), i got home on saturday morning to find all the bids i had currently cancelled, and when i logged into ebay, it said my account had been suspended for a violation.

Today ebay email me to explain that my account has been found to be in violation of spamming !! Spamming ? I hate spam, and would never spam myself, besides how exactly do you spam from an ebay account ?

Well to re-instate my account, ebay want a copy of my last credit card bill, a copy of my driving licence and me to fax off a violation form.

I am not faxing off this information, with the things that ask for including my ssn, if this got into the wrong hands, i daren't think what could happen.

you sure its ebay asking you all that info?

yes i'm sure, i filled out a form on the ebay website when it said my account was suspended, and then i got a reply to that form. I know it's nobody trying to phish my details

dethman, just because u've never heard of a word before, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Check oxford's english dictionary, and you'll find the word daren't

Interesting. That address traces to a server in Germany, and they're in California. Other than that, looks fairly legit.

Obvious phishing trip! Forget the old account, start a new one. NEVER respond to an eBay email, even one that seems legit.

It's obviously not a phishing trip if my ebay account has been suspended, and this is the email i got in reply to filling out a form on their website.
