600 feedback users are a drop in the bucket to eBay. I've had Platinum PowerSeller accounts suspended before. You have to be a pretty big dog to get them to bend the rules for you.

$80 profit is an insanely low price for an item that will be readily available on store shelves on launch day? :D

thats what i was thinking. aint the wii sopposed to have a insane amount shipping? like 8 mil?

I haven't seen that from any official source, only blogs. I'm assuming for now that it's not true. Officially they're expecting to ship 4 million in 06.

ahh still a lot. considering PS3 is what 2mill?

i will get a wii. but i do not mind waiting another 2 months or so.

PS3 - 400,000 units (same as Xbox360)
Wii - at least 1 million (rumored to be 2 million)

these are all North American figures.

so, the long and short of it is..

I have been growing more and more pissed off at the way Ebay is being run and the buyers/sellers on Ebay. So, when they cancelled my Nintendo Wii preorder auction it was the last straw... so, I relisted it with an insanely low price ( I was only making like $80 profit) and got someone to buy it now before they could cancel it.

down side: ebay suspended my account for misuse.

upside: my 600 feedbacks dont mean as much to me as they used to, so I really dont care!

you were breaking the rules. it does not matter if you had 6, 600 or 600000 feedbacks.

but glad you posted this. good to see ebay enforcing the rules!

Not necessarily...I had 10+ microsoft legal sales shutdown while others still had non-licensed ones up.

Ebay goes with those carrying the cash...power sellers have a big cushion.

So is this a new rule? EBAY no longer allows auctions for pre-sales like they did last year?

Didn't they let a lot of EBAY auctions go through where people bid on pictures of gaming consoles for insane amounts of money?

just good wholesome deals like This ONE!

A preorder auction? Are you saying you preordered a wi then sold the preorder for $80 more than you paid?

no, I sold a wii system for $350 shipped and thats what ebay doesnt like. I dont technically have the product so I cant sell it.

of course they are right...

my bad

They DO let you sell products that you don't have. You are just not allowed to do pre-orders that exceed a 30 day time period from physical availability.

It boggles the mind that people PAY such a premium. You have to want the game system enough not to wait a month or so for more units to ship, but be too lazy to place the preorder yourself:confused:

With the PS3 and Wii they are not allowing you to sell the item unless you have physical possession to prevent fraud, etc.

You won't even have to wait a month or two for more units to ship, they should be plentiful on launch day.

Have they made specific exclusions towards PS3 and Wii? If not, then we will have to wait until 10/18 (30 days before PS3 launch) to see if ebay allows pre-order auctions.
