There are a lot of ppl posting stories about eBay deals gone badly, so I wanted to post one about a positive deal. I won an auction on a foldable bike. I want to bike to work and bring it upstairs w/me. Anyway the bike arrived damaged. THE front fork was crushed. The seller sent it UPS ground and insured it. He sent me another fork from the same bike that he has still at home though ! I thought that was really nice. He went out of his way to hook me up and do the right thing. Just goes to show you that good ppl are still out there.

I sold a motherboard on ebay and neglected to mention 1 minor cosmetic flaw, but the motherboard itself was in 100% working condition.

He requested a refund so fortunate for us, he was local (40 miles away), so I drove to his house to pick it up and gave him a full refund including shipping costs :D

Customer satisfaction is my #1 concern :D

I've got well over 100 positives on Ebay. I've only been stung one time for $35.

Most of the folks there, both buyers and sellers, are top notch!

my good deal: I was on ebay and found a ti-89 on buy it now for 55 dollars! I bought it and since i paid so quick shipping was half off. Then ups lost the package or something on the way and it took almost 2 weeks to come from the first day on tracking. The guy refunded my shipping :) I get the ti-89 and its in mint condition, no scratches, still shiny. But he forgot the manual. He is mailing it to me asap even though i really dont need it :) Thought that was nice of him to refund shipping even though its not his fault :)

I have never bought something off Ebay that came broken but I bought a $2100 laptop computer a few months ago and it came sealed and worked great. I had to send the guy a check. Two days later, the guy sent it overnight and it was here at 10am the next day.

This is a few year back. I sold a gameshark at ebay for around $20+ and received a personal check in 3-4 days. I thought who would cheat on $20+ and his check # was like a few thoudsands so I sent him the item immediately. 2 weeks later, my bank charged me about $5 as the check didn't go thru. I contacted that buyer but never heard from him.

I've done many deals at ebay since then (both bought/sold items). That was the only time the deal went bad.

I try to do something nice for my winners, started putting a $1 coin on an index card & include it with the item if it goes for >$100, or include extras, I've got so much crap lying around, it's not hard...

I don't think so. This seller is a straight guy. He will probably only try to recoup the cost of the fork ($25), the cost of paying me to get the fork installed ($50 I didn't wanna do it myself) and postage costs. He is not a hustling kid, that is trying to get over on UPS. I thought I was cynical.
