Ebay story

Alright, this is a long story, but I will make it short and to the point.

1. I sell some old computer hardware to person X. The hardware sold for roughly $20.

2. I ship it out, but in my hurry to make it back to work on time, I forget to use delivery confirmation.

3. 3 weeks go by and then I suddenly get an email from person x saying he never recieved the goods.

4. I tell him to check with his post office to see if its sitting there.

5. Another week goes by and he emails me back saying it has not turned up.

6. I say fine, it was my own mistake for forgetting delivery confirmation, so I paypal him back his $20.

7. 5 days later, he emails me saying he never got a refund. wtf??? 😕

8. I email him back with an attachment showing the paypal screenshot of me paying him. This doesnt phase him and he sticks to his guns that he never recieved payment.

Ok, now seriously...what are the odds that he never recieved both the package and the refund? I have a feeling that he got both and he is milking me for money. I admit its partially my fault for forgetting delivery confirmation, but seriously....wtf. How should I proceed here? Anything I can do?

Was the refund via CC payment, e-check, or something else?

Opps, forgot to clarify that. It came out of my bank account. I even checked my statement, and of course it said $20 was withdrawn...

You have nothing to worry about then. If he claims anything with eBay/paypal, it will quickly dissolve as you have proof that you refunded him.

Won't save his feedback though, if he even cares.

Just PM Heat23 and get it removed

 I did, but he's a very busy man. I gave him a full copy of our PMs to show all of the seller's lies. We'll see how it works out 🙂

But anywho OP, don't sweat it so much. As cheaparse said, all you have to worry about is your feedback.
