I got this from some clown... I thought it was very funny. I'll give you the quotes from our 2 or 3 exchanges. *a little background; I bid on an item, basically just doing a stupid bid just in case. I guy was selling a FX-57 on ebay but had no feedback, he said pp only, I sent him a message and asked if he offered buyer protection, he said yes so I figured worse case pp would give me my money back.*

Anyway this guy emails me about it because the auction had a couple days left.

-Question from skylance4200

If you wait till the end of an auction to bid, you have a greater chance of getting the item at a lower price...

Just a tip.

-Response from kd2777

Thanks for the tip, but what are you talking about?

kd

-response form skylance4200

I mean, instead of bidding at the start of an auction, wait until 1 minute is left or so. any bids before hand simply drive up the price. good for the sellers, not so much for the buyers.

-response from kd2777

Let me get this right... You have bought 5 things on ebay, and you are telling me I don't know how to bid right? I'm sorry but thanks anyway.

Kevin

As my last response indicates he has a feedback of 7; 2 sells 5 buys, so I had to point that out to him and call him an ass (basically). I don't see the big deal of bidding early. I've been on ebay for 5 and a half years with 296 (295-0-1) transactions that I have feedback for, and bidding early has never bothered me, if anything I hate ebay snipers.

I'm pretty sure that guy must be your brother. Irony is pretty ironic sometimes, isn't it?

The funny is in the irony.
The seller emails the buyer (who just so happens to be our very own OP) acting rude, egotistical, and mildly retarded. The OP resonds by being rude, egotictical, and mildly retarded. That's irony number one.
Irony number two is that it turns out that they are actually brothers; twins seperated at birth because their mother was a pole dancing crack smoker and couldn't support the pipe and two kids.

It's sort of a real life drama/heartwarming reunion piece. Perfect made-for-tv stuff.

I give it

stupid story, you only posted this to make yourself feel better by hoping others here would agree with you, but the real fact of the matter is that you are a n00b on ebay.

Who cares what the guy wrote to you...did it bother you so much that you had to come and post this worthless thread?

He may have less feedback then you but he is correct. Bidding early can't help and can possibly hurt your chances. Stop being stubborn and learn to use a sniping program. It will make your life a whole lot easier.

the good thing about bidding early is that you have chumps like me who can't bid from work and miss out on those that end before we get home.

I really don't understand how that applies to the situation. If one were to snipe an auction, you would still be unable to bid, since you are at work. Let's not even bring up the fact that auctions span at least 3 days.
