Ebay Sniping

I snipe manually. It's more fun that way, and you get the excitement of gambling.

I can understand this, but tonight is an instance where I won't be home or available to do so. Sometimes sellers have their auctions ending at all hours of the night too...I won't stay up for that.

Enter the max you're willing to pay and be done with it. Why on earth do you need to snipe?

I used to think that a long time ago, but then I learned how sniping is beneficial.

Of course sniping is not fool-proof. If you're the only one sniping and there are tons of idiots out there in a bid war on that item, sniping ain't gonna matter.

Me too. It's as good as a monster crack hit when you win. I'm jumping up and down doing the Tiger Woods fist pump at the monitor yelling AHAHAHA GOTCHA MUTHERFUCKERS!!!! YEAAH!!!

I alway snipe, i wait for the last few seconds and do it manually, works 99% of time. Otherwise your either going to have higher price or your just going to lose on the good priced items that you want all the time.

If theres a "buy it now" option and its reasonable, its my first preference to save bother.

Does anyone know of any decent sniping programs, which are not too expensive?

This would be instead of an online sniping website.

uhh yea, that's stupid. If I put 100 and someone sees they are not the top they will keep bidding and drive up the price.

Uh, no it's not stupid. If you put in 100 and somebody else pays more, then you don't win. If you were willing to pay more for it, then you should have put THAT number up in the first place.

If everyone bid like this, sniping would be pointless. But a lot of people don't, so... 🙂

Some people are stupid and turn bidding into a competition. It's not about getting a good deal, but winning the auction.

That's a lovely theory, and in an ideal world full of rainbows and unicorns that would be the case. Unfortunately, that's not how eBay works.

While what you are saying is accurate - it leads to bid wars and higher prices. Sniping gets you things cheaper on eBay, period.

If you want to make more money off your stuff though, anti-sniping is the way to go. It was what paved the early days of ebay.

Remember ebay of the late 90's? Sniping was almost nonexistent.
Nowadays tons of people bid at the last minute/hour. Which sometimes, can unfortunately drive down the price.
