Ebay situation -- What would you do?

I bought a used battery for my laptop from a seller who has a great rating 98% pos with 1000+ sales. In his description, he says he doesn't test the battery because he gets so many different ones, but gives a warranty on them.

Well, I got the battery... he did ship it quite fast. But the battery doesn't hold a charge for longer then 15mins. I've sent him a couple emails in the past 4-5 days and get no response.

If I leave him a negative feedback, he'll most likely do the same for me! Which brings me to my next point why I believe the rating system is skewd.

What would you do?

I've never dealt with anything on ebay, but I'd say to send another e-mail or so and just wait. If nothing, then I dunno. Sorry, I'm not much help.

keep contacting him. i think u can get his address and a phone number from ebay. also... i think it has been stated here before that you have 90 days to leave feedback. if u leave the feedback at the last day, the other party cannot retaliate even if he wanted it. errr.... my details might be sketchy becuz i've only read something like that.

Yes, try dealing with the situation first. Try every angle from calling/email, to contacting ebay. Give it some time. Busy sellers have a hard time getting back to everyone, since it's only 1-3ppl at the most on their end handling a ton of orders.

i'd try my best to contact him, but then leave neg feedback because he probably sells so much he can't notice your emails sometimes, and a neg feedback would get his attention. you can retract neg feedback though if it's resolved i think.

Contact him...best method is usually an aluminum baseball bat. They always know when contact has been made with that.

Removing a neg if both parties approve, costs money. Wait adequate time for a response. Make sure you get this resovled as best you can. If you can't get it your way, you can file a complaint through paypal(if you used them).

If you leave feedback too soon, & you're not satisfied with the decision, too bad. At least having the option open leaves for better negotiations.

Try a couple more emails or give them a few more days as they will have thousands of emails if they do a good quanity of business.
If then nothing file with ebay for the sellers info and give them a call.

I can't imagine anyone giving a warranty on a used, untested laptop battery.

That being said: wait a few days, does he live in central florida, a hurricane just rolled through here you know :) Else file and geta phone number to contact him.

First, I wouldn't buy a used laptop battery. They only have a life of 1-3 years anyhow if they're used heavily...

Thanks for the suggestions... I'll definately wait it out a bit before leaving feedback in hopes of getting this resolved.

I bought a used battery because when I bought a used laptop, the battery that came with the laptop was dead and only the power cord worked. I didnt know if the problem was just the battery or something more...

really? is the cost related to the final price of the item, or is it a standard fee?

buying off ebay is like a donation, all you can do is ask for refund minus shipping... if he is a good seller, he'll refund, no question asked.
