Ebay situation: neutral or negative feedback?

The situation:

5/27: Won auction (late at night).
5/28: Sent paypal.
6/10: Haven't received item, sent email to buyer inquiring about status.
6/14 7pm: Having received neither the item nor a response to my email, I send another email.
6/14 8pm: Seller replies with tracking number for the item. Tracking information from UPS shows that the item was shipped in the PM hours on this same day (6/14).

What feedback is appropriate here? I'm leaning toward neutral, but unsure. The buyer has a feedback score of 150, with 98.1% positive.

UPDATE: Seller claims to have been out of town due to a death in the family. While I am certainly sympathetic (my grandfather passed away last friday), I think 2+ weeks without contact or shipping is too much. I think I'm going to go for a neutral.

email him and tell him you're thinking of giving a negative for taking so long. maybe he has a good reason?

Did the seller make any guarantees about when he'd ship it out in the auction or email or otherwise? If no, and the item arrives properly packaged and such, it's really more fitting to do a neutral than an all out negative, but that's really your perogative. If you leave a negative expect one in return more than likely.

Nope, none at all. The reason I waited so long to contact him is because it's not something I really needed. It's a five-year-old piece of consumer electronics that I got for $11 plus $10 shipping.

I would not leave any feedback, until you have the item in your hands.

In my opinion negative feedback is for being ripped off & never receiving the item, or receiving different item than was described in original auction (not a mistake, but dishonest representation).

I have given + feedback even when I've received an item shipped out late, I just make a note of slow shipping in the comment section. Neutral would also be appropriate I would think.

As long as the item is as described, i'd leave a neutral. You never know what happened, maybe he had a family emergency or something.

The problem with negative feedback is that he can turn around and do the same to you... Obviously he wasn't very helpful in getting your product shipped on time, do you trust him not to give you negative feedback???

Probably neutral/negative depending on how POed you are. Also, wait until you get the item. If you get the item and it's fvcked up, then definitely, you want a neg. I've sometimes refunded shipping if I can't get the item out the door quick enough to make up for the lost time.

communicate with the seller, ask him if there is a reason to the late delivery and demand explanation. then you can decide.

As said....if you leave a negative you will probably get one
in return but I would defintely make it clear that you waited
over 2 weeks AFTER payment before shipment was ever made.

I would leave negative and if I got a negative I would just
post in the rebuttal comment area that the seller was a lousy
late shipper and I don't think most people would hold that against
you.

I think we've all been guilty of being "too nice" with some of our Ebay
feedback just to keep our own records spotless.
