ok, so i sold an item in eBay. Buyer paid via Paypal, however, there is a hold on payment until it is shipped. buyer's shipping address in eBay Order Details is different than the one in PayPal. I contacted user and he told me to ship to the eBay address. is this legit? Is PayPal protection only offered on the paypal address?

Its a high price item and i dont want to get ripped, however, buyer has a 100% feedback (90 total).

Buyers can't get negative feedback (unless something has changed?), so I'm not sure I'd put too much credit there.

IIRC you have to ship to a confirmed (or verified?) Paypal address to have protection..

I always ship to the paypal address. If they're too lazy to correct that, that's their problem.

i had a discussion with paypal regarding this before. according to paypal, so long as the other address is listed under paypal also as a confirmed address, then it should be ok. BUT, if you want to be absolutely sure nothing can backfire on you, i suggest sending only to the address that is listed on the paypal receipt. if you send to another address not on the paypal receipt, even if he says its paypal confirmed, and then later claims he never received it, you're screwed.

Correct. In Paypal, I have it so that buyers that have an unconfirmed address will be automatically blocked from sending the payment. I know Paypal protection is a joke but something is better than nothing. I would contact the buyer again and have him/her have their address confirmed through Paypal.

ok, buyer sent email stating that he will update PayPal address. Will the new address show up automatically under Paypal shipping label even though item has been purchased and other address shows up?

no, the address will not show. the address status will not change on the receipt either. unconfirmed at point of payment will still show as unconfirmed, even if he confirms it afterwards. AND, paypal will NOT cover you. their recommendation was to redo the payment again, so as to reflect the newly confirmed status on the receipt. This i also went through with paypal btw...

You'd probably be best off with a refund/repay, so you have a confirmed address to ship to.

I just went through something similar. You want to refund the money and tell the guy that you cannot send to any other address but the "confirmed" address he or she has on file. If the address isn't confirmed, I wouldn't even bother sending it at all. Just re-list it and specifically state you'll only send to a confirmed ship to address.
