eBay sellers - Quick PayPal Question

If you do not accept credit card payments via PayPal, will it still display the credit card logos in the "Payment methods accepted" section, next to the PayPal logo in your auction? Do you as a seller have any control over that?

Just curious. Thanks.

specify it in your description that u want only non-cc paypal.

never works for me though >: (

the buyer almost always sends cc-paypal

In this case, I was the offending buyer. I was under the incorrect assumption that it would display differently based on the accepted payments. But I understand why it wouldn't (from PayPal's perspective) -- they want more cc revenue.

Thanks guys!

I just charge the buyer fees🙂

Isn't that a violation of the TOS for PayPal? You can't charge to accept PayPal except in very specific scenarios.
Yeah, it is. So many people do it they can't really enforce it.

Might be..but I haven't been caught in 3 years of doing it. I call it a processing fee though. I've saved over 1k in paypal fees so I'd say it's worth it. If I get in trouble I just open up a new paypal account🙂

i wish there was an option to not display the damn CC logos, I always state in my auctions (multiple times too) that I only accept Non-CC paypal. But yet, idiots still pay w/ damn CC. Some people just don't read the auctions. Pisses the hell out of me.

charging processing fee is perfectly legit.

Hi Xiety,

Charging the buyer is a violation of the PayPal and eBay User Agreements. Sellers can have their accounts suspended for doing so.

oh well, no offense but from my experience, at least %25 of sellers must be suspended then 🙂

I think ebay only catches it if you put a set % inside the auction but if you put if paying by credit card, I will charge a transaction fee it works. When the auction is done they pay, you say add 2.8% for my transaction fee. That way you aren't stating you're charging paypal fees as I think only charging paypal fees is frowned upon. Not sure, I've been doing it this way for a few years selling 30 or more items per month.
