eBay seller questions, pls

What do you guys do when selling bigger ticket items on eBay as far as avoiding those fees? I mean is it cheaper to place the minimum bid higher or set a reserve at the minimum bid? I might be putting my car up there and wanna get at least around 2 Gs. Also for you folks that have sold cars on there, is the $40 final listing fee refundable? I know the starting fee is not refundable (also $40), and I don't wanna lose too much if some deadbeat bids on my ride. These fees just went up from $25, BTW.

Thanks

There's really no way you're going to avoid a high listing fee. If you have a deadbeat bidder, the final value fee should be refundable just like any other auction. The listing fee probably not. I'm sure you can find all definitive answers and more in the site guide 😉

People say avoid it because there's occasional problems...but I've had 500+ good transactions and the couple that went extremely bad cost me $100 total...

Definitely worth it
