Hopefully he doesn't leave you a negative feedback. Even if it is a 100% scam eBay is a horrible company when it comes to unwarranted feedback.
As DeadByDawn said, just relist it and file for refund of final value fees. Ofcourse even though it went sour, eBay is happy to keep your "listing" fees which are non refundable.

jsut make your auction paypal only and immediate payment. that way they have to provide their paypal account and such or it won't actually sell it to them.

Ebay is getting worse and worse.

They corporate ebay is going to end up on the grill soon if they don't do something about crap like this.

Did you list that you ship worldwide? An easy out is to state that to export computer equipment outside of the US requires an specifc license (true) and you cannot ship outside of the US.

One way or the other he will request your bank account info to make the transfer.

If your terms of sale were Paypal only, you can refuse to sell.

I agree. I've been selling on there since '98 and prices for items I sell just get lower and lower every year, and more and more scammers pile in.

They keep my listing fee and I have to pay to list again or they keep my listing fee and I can list again for free?

I said i ship only to the 48 states and only paypal or money order, and the scammer wants exceptions to both. I haven't sold on ebay for a while. Next time I'll do the immediate paypal payment.

You'll get to list again for free as long as it sells the 2nd time.

You should get listing fees free on the relist IF it sells that 2nd time.

I'm not sure about final value fees from the first time....you might get those back too?

Any ebay experts here?

That didn't happen for me when I had an NPB on an xbox 360... ebay took me for like $30 :|

hmmm, it used to be that way. If you had an NPB on the first auction final value fees refunded, and you got a credit for the second listing fee if it sold the second time. Might have changed since I last used it

I had the same thing happen to me like 100 times. It took me at least 3 relistings to sell my old ipod. Damn scammers. It's not that I'm afraid to fall for them (I'm not), It's just a bitch to relist and wait for someone else who isn't a scammer to actually buy your items nowadays.

Can't you filter who is allowed to bid on your auction? I know there is a way to set parameter but not sure if you can still avoid bidders like this. Otherwise remove the buy it now and monitor who bids and make sure the auction ends at 2:00 a.m. Nigerian time.

If you want to feel even more disappointed about your sale try selling the unit on Craigslist. There you can get to know your scammer FOR FREE. I tried selling my laptop there and 9 out of 10 people were scammers.

Update! So I relisted the laptop this time requiring immediate payment with buy it now. It sold this morning, and the funds were frozen this afternoon. ebay needs to do something about all this fraud/scamming. And they say I owe them $5 for the listing...

Pastor James, I am still waiting on my 10 million from him. Could you tell him that in order to release th 10k release fee I need $200 to cover the initial bank transfer fee.
