ebay scam/phishing spam

anyone else starting to get a lot of ebay scam/phishing spam? i never got any until about 2 weeks ago and now i've received several of them.

credit card co. calls up the same day i got phished: "have you been in India recently?"

😕 "uh, no. i've never been to India."

"mmk we are cancelling your card. watch for email scams, k n00b?"

me: "k" 😱 🙁

ive been getting a lot of bank phishing scams - banks i dont even have an account with.

As a netowork manager, I have noticed a steady increase in spam on our server. It started back in October of last year and has been steadily rising since. We log about 20k spam emails a day now, up from 4k the same time last year. And it is only growing and that is only the ones that I catch in filters. With a .1% miss rate (since most companies that deal with spam often advertise 99.9% which is bogus btw), that means at least 20 are still getting through.

I have also seen a large increase in spam with stock prices in a pump and dump schemes.

I've been noticing a lot more annoying Nigerian scammers on eBay (telltale signs include item price being jacked up to $324958673245.00 in the last few minutes by a 0-feedback bidder) and even "Ask Seller a Question" spam.

and if you report/fwd to the real bank ..you get a few more from another source 😛

thats what i'm getting, they're asking me questions about an auction i don't have.
