Ebay - same person - 2 accounts?

ITEM - 7343361951

I have a feeling that user:"warren-gss" and user:"tribesman2004" is the same person and bids on his or her own items. I may be wrong but warren-gss has not had any feedback in the past 12 months, yet has bid on at least two of tribesman2004's auctions. Not to mention the fact that tribesman2004's reply to email is "warren@tribeband.com"---- his first name seems to be warren --- I could be totally wrong but it seems fishy.

to drive up your own price or make it appear that there is a lot of competition I would guess.

Yeah but if you want to drive up the price without setting a reserve, just set the opening price to whatever you want. If you bid on it yourself and then no one else bids, you owe ebay more money for your own item.

Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture. Either way its dumb.

So basically what a successful ebayer should do is shill bid carefully. Get a network of friends and family.

Good stuff.

shill bidding

i'm curious. what good does an infinite suspension on a buyer account do when the buyer can create a new accout and repeat the process?

Back to ZERO feedback.

but as a buyer, zero feedback is not that big of a deal. for a seller i can see that it'll cause some headache.

Shill bidding is used more than anyone thinks. I see nothing wrong with it, since the bidder has put the top amount they are bidding in... it's not like you are forcing them over what they want it for... It can backfire in the sellers face and they end up paying for the final auction fees without having an actual buyer.

I say leave him alone.

Shill Bidding is taking money out of someone's pocket. It's not yours to take so it is essentially an abstract form of theft.

Bt hey, if you want to rationalize it, go right ahead...

I don't have to rationalize it... my actions speak louder than words. 🙂
