Ebay Question

How do you prove to paypal/ebay that you shipped the item with the actual item in it if the guy who bought it claims there was nothing in the box?

This is just theoretical. I want to list my Nintendo DS with a couple of games, but I'm scared of getting scammed I guess.

This happened once before with a Hard Drive. I shipped the guy a perfectly good hard drive that worked and then he told me it didn't work and then when he returned it to me, it was completely destroyed (he had obviously dropped it or something) and paypal took his side with absolutely no evidence and without question. I was SOL.

Yea, paypal usually sides with the buyer. Some suggestions:

-Explain in the listing that no one with 0 or negative feedback can bid
-Explain in the listing you will only ship to a paypal verified address
-Charge the buyer for insurance and do not make it an option
-Charge the buyer for signature capture through the shipping company

Also, In my area, I can pay a store to package & ship things for me. I did this on several high end laptops back in the summer. Not becuase I can't do it myself, but the buyer paid for it, the shop guarantees what was packaged, and the item is shipped and insured at the store. 1 stop shop.

If you're really worried, you might want to look into such a store.

Or you can just sell it on Craigslist.

You can restrict it to only people with a verified paypal account, and be sure to use signature confirmation and insurance and tracking.
