eBay question

I bought this item a few days ago even though the shipping was ridiculously expensive. Now that i have the package, I see that the buyer himself paid half that amount to ship the item through USPS. the original USPS receipt with his signature came with the package.

I know that it did NOT cost him that much to package it and stuff but he DID make it clear on the item description page that the shipping fees is non negotiable.

Can I still try to contact eBay with the USPS receipt (clearly showing that he paid half of the shipping amount he charged me) to get some portion of the shipping cost back?

thanks to anyone who replies!!

Nope. You most likely knew of the shipping and handling fees before you purchased the item. If you didn't agree to the charges you shouldn't have purchased what you purchased.

If he shipped promptly, packaged well, and still gave you a good deal, leave him positive feedback.

I thought eBay created a new policy a few months ago banning low-priced auctions with outrageous shipping & handling charges?

Handling.

And besides, you agreed to pay the S&H fee when you bid on the auction. Get over it.

You agreed to pay that amount for shipping and handling, quit bitching and leave him positive feedback.

I echo pretty much everyone. You agreed to pay it, so shut up and leave him positive feedback. It doesn't matter what he was actually charged. He took the time to pack it and get it to the post office too. Is he not allowed to be compensated for doing that?

That doesn't sound like what's happening here.

Nothing you can do. You just calculate the shipping in when you buy it and use that to decide if you are getting a fair deal.

I bought a cell phone holder once for $1 and like $6 shipping. It was so light it actually cost him like $0.74 to ship it. But $7 was an OK deal so it didn't matter.

I actually do that all the time with some PCMCIA cards I sell. I just put a flat rate of $9.99 shipping but then sometimes it only comes out to $2-$3 depending on where it's going.

Are you kidding? Skimming a few extra dollars off the shipping costs is a proud ebay tradition, slimy though it may seem. You agreed to the price.

Heh..I remember back in the day..someone was selling a PowerVR Kyro card - current bid was ~$25 with ~$50 shipping. I emailed the seller and told him the same card was on Newegg for $48 shipped free. He wasn't too happy with me. 😀
