Ebay question

I won an item from a seller whom I thought was in New York and when I got the Ebay email telling me I won the item, it said his address was in Canada.
It just seems like it's taking alot longer for shipping than was specified by USPS 1st class (5days now not including the holiday or Sun, with no tracking #)

Is this allowed on Ebay? Saying you live in one state within' your auction when your address is actually in another?

You "thought" he was based in New York, but was he?

He could have been Canadian all along and you just didn't check.

Not sure about the rules on this but FWIW, add a couple of weeks if indeed it is coming across the border. I have received stuff quickly and other times it does have that extra delay element due to international border crossing inspections, etc. Good luck

I mean when your inside the auction looking at the item, it states where the person is located. Example:
Shipping costs: US $8.99
US Postal Service First Class Mail®
Ships to: United States
Item location: NY - NY, United States
Quantity: 1 available
History: Purchases bla bla bla

When you get the Ebay email saying you've won the item, it states the Sellers address. Which is located in Canada in this case.
Seller Information:
John Smith
This crap city, QC
1234567 crap zip code, Canada

Is it allowed in Ebay for someone to give a diff address in your auction if it's different than your real "SHIPPING" address?

PS: On the item in question, he just emailed me back saying he did not have it and is refunding me through PP. I don't care about that really, just the address thing ticked me off. If you think you're ordering from FL and come to find out it's in CA?

They could be totaly lieing...any refs?

they could just have LOCATIONS and that happens to be the place of that items location.

Brain---- That's a good explanation, I'll go with that.

Vivi------ It was just a PSP game, no biggie ($22.00 new/shipped). As for references, he had 98%+ on Ebay. I've yet to be scammed on Ebay or anywhere since '94.......... Oh wait! there was this one time in Guild Wars when I was trying to buy 10 Bolts of Silk and the guy put 10 Bolts of Cloth in the window and I accepted  I lost a few hundred gold

The only reason I said that was because I sold a PSU to someone on this forum. They live in Cananda, but close enough to the NY border to have a PO Box which I shipped the PSU to.
