play it safe. say NIB, without UPC.
you can still list it as New or NIB as long as you write in your listing that the UPC is gone for mysterious reasons, say "RARE! BOX W/O UPC" 😀

perhaps a bit but it's better than having them filing a complaint when they receive it without the UPC 😉
 
Ask yourself if you would be pissed if you purchased an item "NIB" and get it only to find that the item is missing a UPC.

Yeah, you would be, even if it didn't matter. Someone might be buying it for a gift and they may think it tacky to be missing a UPC.

Call the item "Never opened, Never used, packaging is missing UPC" in the title calling it "New" is acceptable but make sure you don't mislead people.

Check rebate terms, some allow you to submit a photocopy of UPC.

Read the rebate. If it says original UPC, you need the original UPC. If it says a copy of the UPC... well, I think you can figure that out.
 
I always say NIB. And then under terms with my shipping and stuff I say UPC is missing for rebate purposes.

yes and no..

as a buyer, i would want to know.. that means the seller got a discount (perhaps significant discount) on the item.
