if u are the highest bidder and there is a reserve, will your value go over the reserve price automatically?

say the current highest bid is $20 and you put $100 and the reserve is $50...will your bid be $21 or $50...

right now it has mine at $21 and says (reserve not met) so im not sure if my highest value is under the reserve or not

I am not sure either. I have not run across many auctions that use the reserve to be honest.

In that scenario, your bid would be be $21 (I think you are only bidding against the other bidders, not the sellers reserve).

You have no way of knowing whether it is or not (unless they happened to say in their listing what their reserve it). You'll only know once enough other bids are placed to bump the current bid up over whatever their reserve it (and it says "reserve met").

From eBay:

If your maximum bid is the first to meet or exceed the reserve price, the effective bid displayed will automatically be raised to the reserve price.

It looks like the reserve is over $100 if it still says reserve not met.

That is correct. If your max exceeds the reserve, your bid will become the reserve price.
