So if i bid for a product and its 42.50 and i need to make a max of 43.60 and i do.. does that 43.60 get taken off my card and if i lose does it go back on or stay off? Is it like horse race bidding or something like that. Also if something is $5.50 and i bid $6.00 do i take it for 6.00 if i get it?

u pay after the aution ends. i'm not sure if this will answer ur question, but ebay has this thing called proxy bidding. say the item is $5 now, and u need a bid of $5.50 to win. u can tell ebay ur max bid, and ebay will bid on ur behalf. it will only bid enough to win... up til ur specified max. read more about it here

if the auction ends at $42.50 you only pay that and not your "max" of $43.60

at least I think that is what you are asking
