ebay question

Is ID verified seller just as reputable seller? Anyone use this when selling? Thanks.

ID verified seller means that they went through a credit check in order to get that status. They had to input their SSN, etc etc.

I'd trust a verified seller over a seller. But always check their feedback.

They go through a more stringent credit check than Ebay and pay $5. I guess it's a good thing to have, but if someone stole someone's identity to set up an account, I don't think it would make them any more trustworthy.

Since we are on the topic of Ebay, I have a question. Can you sell your Ebay username (and all the feedback associated with it)? I am sure some people would want to purchase an ebay username with 1000+ positive responses.

I highly doubt that.

Uh, I'm not sure if it's legal but why would you want to do that? For all you know you could be selling your account to some troll to use your name to defraud people. I'm pretty sure you could be liable for the frauders actions as well. I don't think that's a wise idea.

you should try to make preliminary contact with the seller also before you buy anything just so that you know you have methods of contact when you plan on making payments.

Uh, I'm not sure if it's legal but why would you want to do that? For all you know you could be selling your account to some troll to use your name to defraud people. I'm pretty sure you could be liable for the frauders actions as well. I don't think that's a wise idea.

I wondered that myself. There was someone on the forums here that had over 1000 positive feedbacks, 1 neutral and 0 negatives. He ended up leaving the country and moving back to South Africa. I have been looking at his account on and off for several months and there hasn't been any activity since he moved. That would be a sweet Ebay account to sell if you could.

I would imagine that the problem would be that you would always have ties to the account. I don't think you can change "ownership" of the account and I doubt that it would be worth it to risk having someone defraud someone with your old account and have it come back to you somehow.

There have been discussions on the Ebay discussion site on the topic of selling your account/feedback. I don't have a link at this moment but I believe the unoffical ebay line is that you cannot sell your account/feedback generally. However, if you were to sell your business/storefront, then everything within that business i.e. goods, name of the business, it's goodwill/reputation (read feedback), etc could be transfered to the new owner. I think this would be ripe for abuse/scam/fraud.
