Ebay Q (paypal fee)

I don't know if it's breaking an eBay rule..but it's breaking Paypal policy..and eBay/Paypal merged..so..yeah.

6% is outrageous..it's only a 2.9% + $0.30 fee!

You can also not bid on their junk. YOU HAVE A CHOICE.

Don't worry I don't bid with a % on paypal on ebay.

Thanks M4H for clearing that up for me. Now I know.

I think its a complete con that people do it and ebay DOESN'T allow it but DOESN'T bust on them. That is bent.......

--- me not bid on item that rips me off 7% for using paypal!

But I've seen numerous sellers adding in *add 6% on top of bid to cover paypal fees*. Isn't this breaking a ebay rule then?

Just want to clear it up and if they are not allowed to do so. Why does ebay permit them to sell and to do this?

Hi, I suspect that you are looking at a lot auctions on the UK Ebay site.
People in the UK/Britian and who use the UK Ebay site to list items are allowed to add a surcharge to people who want to use Paypal.

If you are in the United States, you cannot tack on a surcharge explicitly but most people will add it to the shipping and handling portion of the auction.
