Ebay problem, advice wanted

I purchased two DVDs on ebay last week and I paid through paypal. A USPS priority envelope came this weekend from the seller, but it was empty except for a copy of the paypal receipt. The shipping label lists the package weight as 8 oz., which is appropriate for two dvds in cases plus the envelope itself. I emailed the seller and she claims that she gave the items to the PO and they packed and sealed them.

What recourse do I have here? The cost it so small that I'll probably just eat it, but it really bugs me. Of course I don't have any proof that I'm not lying, so filing a complaint might be difficult. Assuming the seller's story is true, it sounds like a postal employee helped themselves to a five finger discount and then sealed the empty envelope.

The post office has self serve now. She probably wieghed it with the DVD's. Then got her postage slip from the machine. Then without putting the DVD's in she mailed it.

I wouldn't let it go. I bet paypal will back you.

Hell, a negative feedback is worth a lot of negative money on ebay, so just give her one of those and call it even.

file the negative just minutes before the 3month (or whatever it is) time limit for feedbacks. just got to make sure you remember to do that. i tried to once but eventually forgot...

wait till the 90th day after the auction, then leave it. Do a chargeback on the CC. I wouldn't care it was only a few dollars... its the principle of the thing.

Most people are capable of recognising a retaliatory feedback. In any case, unless you have a very small number of feedbacks it's not likely to bring your rating below 90%'s

File a claim through paypal would be what I would do.
