No offense, Alchy, but I think you're way off base here.

I guarantee you Amazon couldn't give a crap what happened to this item as soon as it left their warehouse. It's still a sale to them. Why would they care?

I don't know if they care or not. I know Dell cares if you buy and resell in bulk on ebay, so it only stands to reason they would care even more if folks did direct markups.

Fundamental difference there, too. Dell's contract for sale has provisions dealing with the resale of their merchandise.

so i missed in the OP who forced her to pay that price

if she doesn't know what the going price for the thing is, who are you mad at?

😕

This is probably the first time in my 6,000+ posts I've reported somebody for insults. I can take them for myself but there's no need to repeatedly insult my wife after I asked you to stop. Mod PM'ed for full disclosure. Now you can call me a crybaby or whatever you want, but you are acting like the child not me.

That is true - I don't think Amazon has a policy on resale...

Everyone has good points 🙂 I would have aggressively searched out the price being a deal-seeker. She didn't

BUT - seller beware, I can game the system also and leave a neg at 89 days warning future folks to look at Amazon.com. I'm unsatisfied because she charged $12 shipping and didn't incur any shipping charges. I'll give the seller a chance to refund them, they won't, neg at 89 days. 😀

You are the one in the wrong. You shouldn't be neg'ing anybody.

Why not? What policy says I can't? No different than the argument I'm hearing from the buyer side...I'm not 100% happy, therefore I'll leave a negative.

But the seller did nothing wrong. You agreed to pay a certain price, and you got what you paid for.

Do you really think that when you do to Wal-Mart to buy a 2-liter bottle of Pepsi that you are getting some kind of deal b/c it was on sale for $0.89? Sorry buckaroo, Wal-Mart didn't pay $0.89. They paid way less.

So are you gonna call the BBB?

If a guy was standing outside of Wal-mart selling them for $1 more, how do you think Wal-mart would feel about it? I'm guessing Amazon doesn't like this practice one bit. I might inform Amazon.

Wal-Mart wouldn't give a **** b/c no one is dumb enough to pay $1 for it when they can pay $0.89 for it in the store...

Oops, I spoke too soon. Must go read the OP again 😀

So - what would Wal Mart think? 😀

Nobody forced anyone. I'm not satisfied with the practice. Isn't that what feedback is supposed to represent, the satisfaction of the people you sell to?

How ironic is it that you end up having to sic the mods on people in ATOT when you spend so much time in P&N? What a world!

FWIW, I don't think your wife is an idiot at all (at least not based on this one purchase). Not everyone has the time, wherewithal or inclination to comparison-shop for things.

I do think, though, that you're being unreasonable and silly, and if you leave negative feedback for this guy, you, not him, will be the only one abusing eBay policies.

No, it's based on satisfication of the transaction. You knew what you were buying, you knew the shipping cost and the cost of the item. You placed a bid, you recieved exactly what was offered in the listing for the exact price that was specified beforehand.

Do you think no one is making a profit on ebay? Everyone is selling stuff at cost?

Why is it that you choose to leave negative feedback in 89 days? Speaking of childish...

No, you are the one acting like a child. You have the buyers remorse and you're going to take it out on the seller by leaving negative feedback, which is totally uncalled for. You knew the price and the goods before you bid. You were offering what you considered a fair price and it was accepted. This is how retail works. Of course the seller sourced the goods from a cheaper source. Do you think he is going to sell to you at a loss? Too bad.

Honestly....

Are you pissed because you overpaid for an item without shopping first. Or are you pissed that someones reselling from another vendor and they might not like it.

This is a dumb discussion. You wouldn't care if someone sent you something from Amazon and they were charged $100 and you paid $80. You'd be here gloating. But you overpaid for an item and the seller did nothing wrong. As long as they legally purchased the product, what the hell does it matter where it came from.

Again, you still haven't answer why you are not satisfied with a good that you received in good condition with an agreed upon price. Maybe you will feel better if the seller got the good at a corner store for $50 and made more money or you are only satisified if you know the seller lost money on the deal.

Like I said, I haven't decided what to do. I'm reading feedback policy:

Pretty much everything defines it as opinion. And in my opinion, this is a pretty sh*tty practice, basically they are arbitraging amazon.

Most companies drop ship, they just don't let you know that they do it 😀

I don't see where this is a problem. Did he not ship it on time? Was it damaged or not working....just because its a lower price somewhere means ABSOLUTELY nothing. almost everything on ebay is/was a lower price somewhere else, its not like they bought it for more than they are gonna sell it for. Just because your too dumb to check prices does not mean its the sellers fault. how is this unethical, EVERY business does this, they buy it for less than they sell it for....do you think people are out to lose money on ebay?

in summary if you leave negative feedback, your a moron.

Refresher to what you said:

"You're not happy because your wife is an idiot? Your wife is stupid."
"Your wife is an idiot. "

My wife is irrelevant to the discussion. But I'm a child? Please edit your posts.

Why not step up, be a man, and confront the seller at least. Instead you're going to wait 89 days, holding a grudge the entire time, then neg him? Im sure he'd rather refund you the extra shipping or whatever then to get a negative.

May be you should go live in Cuba or North Korea. Should every seller tell you where they get their products and at what cost? Better yet, they should just spoon fed you too. The seller you bought from has to spend time setup the auction, pay fees to ebay, go to order from Amazon. No one forces your wife to buy the item. She prefers the simplicity of buying from Ebay and pay the premium for it. You are just bitter you were not able to check prices before your wife buys it, face the truth.

My primary reason would be unreasonable shipping - $0 - 12 mark up. The labor involved in her transaction did not justify the costs. It's like charging $12 for a stamp and envelope.

while i may or may not get a vacation because i pointed out facts. While i may have a reputation as a bad speller and slightly rude its better then having a reputation as someone who whines when someone fulfills a deal they made because the other party made a profit.

I thought I said I was thinking about asking for that didn't I?
If I didn't, that's one path I'm going down. I don't mind paying $10 cause he/she found a good deal, but the shipping was a fabrication.

I will contact the buyer before any feedback is left...
