Ebay opportunities

I'm kicking myself.

Not only did I miss the Xbox360 line waiting, opportunity, to sell one on ebay.
but I also missed out on some deals on friday.

i got to BB at 12:30am waited in line, but budgers at 4am screwed everything up, so I didnt get the $380 laptop, (which seems to be going for about $600 on ebay)

to make matters worse, the salesman offered the emachine desktop to me and the $580 laptop, but I assumed neither would make very much money on ebay, so I skipped buying those and just bought some dvds and crap.

Now, I check ebay and those emachines are going for $350+ and the laptops (that originally cost $580) are now going for $700.

**Pulls hair out of head!*** I'm in debt right now, dang i coulda used that money.

Any of you guys know of any other good money making opportunities on ebay?

u went t BB at 12:30 A.M and you didnt get the laptop?

omg time to build muscle for next year so you can push those asshats out of the way

i didnt want to start a fight out there, mobs can become pretty stupid at times. The problem was that the voucher guy was at the front of the store, and when everyone saw him handing out the laptop vouchers they all rushed up there, the line kinda fell apart. I stayed in my spot, like what some other honorable ppl did.

But when the laptops were gone, the ppl who rushed up there didnt even return to their original spots, they just stayed near the front.

omg if I was there and I saw asshats rushing to the front of the line I would have caused hell.

You were there first and you should have gotten it.

If you really want to buy things and sell them on ebay

check out:

http://www.gottadeal.com

compare hot deals with ebay prices and buy the ones that are a steal.

I used to do this back in the day.

I would list an ebay AD and when they clicked buy it now I simply went to for example, officedepot.com and ordered it directly from the site to them so I could save on shipping.

In order to advertise on ebay, isnt the rule that you actually need to HAVE the item?

btw, you said you used to do this. how successful were you? what made u decide to stop doing it?

If you plan it right you should be fine, don't do large ticket items till you get the hang of it so that you can figure out the process and do it 10-20 times at least and get used to it. Why? Be prepared to eat the costs incase something messes up!

Yeah I guess I actually did need to have the item. I placed auctions for 3 days and they usually sold in less than 24 hours. I made around $20-30 each item. This wasn't the bulk of my sales ->

I was also selling other things on Ebay.. Ti-Calc game CDs, Racing Video CDs etc. I was making in $600/week in profit with those alone. Listed $.99 + $8.99 Shipping.

Then one day .... I got an email saying I was using copyright information and I didn't want to risk anything so I closed my ebay. It was from someone's lawyer.. yeah right.

I am 99.9% sure the email was from another ebayer who was selling the same things. I look on Ebay today and those very same sellers have 5,000+ ratings. They are still around.

Other things that made me really rich back in the day:
Wedding Photo CDs 5,000 pictures of wedding dresses $.99 + $8.99 Shipping
Wedding Photo CDs 5,000 pictures of wedding cakes $.99 +$8.99 Shipping
Wedding Photo CDs 5,000 pictures of wedding hairstyles $.99 + $8.99 Shipping

... If you look on Ebay there are some people who still do this and make $$$$$.. they are using copyright material.

That is why I stopped. I am not going to risk anything anymore. You can go ahead and try. You will make $500+ in profits a week easily. You would be shocked at how many people actually buy CDs with wedding related pictures.. especially during the spring!

the money you save compare to my unsecured credit I have in my credit cards. LOL

just apply for a cc with 1 year free 0% APR a few months before next BF, I usually granted 3k+ credit line.

I was chatting with a friend who said his friend waited for 7 hours @ CostCo for an XBOX 360.

Xbox 360 deluxe bundle $500, sold on eBay for $1,000 = 100% pure profit

There are tons, just check out what the powersellers are doing and the ebay forums.

rather than waiting in BF lines, moving refurbed/closeout dells is a common one. Selling new items without UPC codes (due to large rebates esp free after rebate items) is popular. Also buying laptop and PC packages where you sell off the individual items a la carte is a good one.

A lot of the iPod deals come from those that bought Macs with heavily discounted iPods and printers included in a package.

Hmmm...

What if an item has rebates? Like if I bought an item for a good deal, but had to cut out a UPC and mail it in to get a rebate?

Like how much more would that complicate the process if I sold them the computer on ebay?

Would the warranty be void if the UPC on the box was gone?

I'd quit my job if I could make $500/week profit on ebay.
