I usually shop on my desktop.
this time I was on my phone and going on eBay with a web browser. (1st time shopping on ebay on my phone.)

when it was time check out, the costs was larger than advertised.
WTF?
so then I clicked on the link for different payment options.
it was automatically set to pay in USD and charged a 3.75% conversion fee!!!!!
I clicked it back to pay via local currency and let my credit card handle the conversion. (in my case, 0% conversion fee.)

for those that don't know about DCC:

very shady eBay!

what if your credit card doesn't do the conversion? I don't shop on foreign websites so I don't know if all credit card offer this conversion or not...

I would imagine all CCs do currency conversion, though the rate might be horrible.

The CC conversion rates are usually fine. Where they get you is in the foreign transaction/currency fees, where they may charge you another 2-3% if your card doesn't have a 0% foreign transaction/currency rate.
