ebay must love this

Invites are down to $8 ?

I thought they went for hundreds

Still a good deal compared to what they cost not too long ago

Excuse my newbness, but I've not been following this whole GMail thing...

Why is it $8.00 for an e-mail account, and why should eBay love it?

Yeah, they are still going in the $20 (and up) range in the non-BuyItNow auctions.

BIN is the way to go, if you were to buy one.

because people are idiots, and because it's getting around ebay's fees.

Search again. They're going for $5 or less now.

I think the gmail accts are actually free from google itself, but some folks are auctioning them off for $$.

The auction is for $.01, buyer pays $8 but ebay only collects fees on the .01.

So if the accounts are free themselves, why would anybody buy one off of somebody who's auctioning them? Why not just go and sign up for a free account?
