I was just wondering if there is any way I can report if someone has practically taken my item description on my eBay listing and put it up as their own with minor modifications. Thanks!

I dunno....but it's just so blatently obvious.... I had a 10 day listing and the person posted a 3 day listing and miraculously it ends 2 hours after mine and the shipping and insurance is the same.

i thought people's html was considered "copyrighted" in ebay's eyes. maybe not.

I sold some stuff on ebay; I looked at the completed sales and found the one that ended with the highest bid. I pretty much copied it verbatim, took my own picture, but arranged it identical to that auction. I changed a few words here and there, but if you looked at the two it was obvious I copied it. Admittedly, his auction ended about a month before mine, so it wasn't going on at the same time, but I don't see the problem with it as long as they aren't bandwidth stealing the images. Heh, whats that thing about imitation and flattery?

Exactly......I actually wouldn't mind if my auction was over. But the person listed it to end 2 hours after. It seemed almost intensional.

don't worry, regardless of whether or not he copied your auction, you'll still get the same amount either way b/c ebay is full, and I mean FULL of people who will buy your goods.

Someone did that to me. I reported them and eBay pulled their auciton. There is an online form you can fill out through eBay, search the Help section.

It is against Ebay policy for someone to steal another seller's pics or item description. You can report them and Ebay will end the other auction. However, it usually takes Ebay at least 24 hours to check the report, so if the auction is ending soon, it wont matter.

HERE is a link to Ebay's listing policy on the subject. You can also report the other seller from here.
