eBay item not received yet.

Nocturnal

How long should one wait before contacting the proper authorities? This guy said he sent it out February 1st, it's now the 11th. I think it should have gotten here and I should be receiving some kind of communication from the seller. I'm receiving NO communication other than an e-mail that said it was being shipped (as though he paid for it online using USPS's click n ship).

I've e-mailed him three times and he has not responded once.

Any ideas?

Well it could have been in that e-mail but I formatted and lost everything. But I was hoping I could at least just get a response saying it shipped.

I had to wait at least close to 30 days before I could start my refund with Paypal (I haven't received the item I won on eBay and I used Paypal to pay for it) -- Anyway, I guess after Paypal attempted to contact the seller directly (and perhaps threatened the seller somewhat), I finally got my item.

There's a "Help" area in eBay and it's pretty comprehensive. I suggest you run a search there and best of luck!

Same thing is happening to me... I payed on Jan 14.. it's now Feb 11. But you have like 45 days to file a complaint with Paypal... and then with Ebay.

USPS is incredibly slow. It took them a WEEK to send a first-class parcel two states away. It got there eventually, but I was biting my nails the entire time...

Delivery Confirmation isn't really reliable, either.

It was sent Priority which is a step up from first class. It normally takes 2-3 business days and it is passed the Christmas season.

If you paid via paypal, give it a few more days then issue a chargeback. Just say that seller has been non-responsive and you are doing it to protect yourself. Don't lift the chargeback until you have either your money or the item. Even if he promises to ship it, once you cancel a chargeback you can't restart it. It's over.

Keep tabs on them on ebay and if they list any new auctions or have any activity, alert the potential buyer/seller that something is fishy... this is also a good way to find new contact information and find out whether they are active on the net and should have gotten your emails.
