Ebay Issue

So i purchased a cell phone on ebay 2 weeks ago. There were problems with getting my address here at school confirmed, however that was my fault, and will not hold that against the seller. However, the seller has been horrible about returning questions. Ive tried calling him, emailing him, ect. with no response.

The auction says specifically that it will be shipped via UPS groud (which i paid $20 for...plus $12 insurance).....however he provides me with a USPS DC number.....uhhh, what?

He shipped it on Monday from New York, and I'm in Illinois, and have still yet to recieve it. I know USPS is slow as hell, which is one reason Im upset he went against the listing. Is there a way I can file a complaint for this situation? Would leaving a neutral/neg feedback be out of line? He has a good reputation, but has been HORRIBLE at getting back to me. Ive sent numerous emails, and called and left many messages, none of which have been returned!!

Update: It is saturday, and it was shipped on monday.....from NY to IL...still not here. I am beginning to really get pissed off

if it's not shipped according to the terms of the auction, then he's certainly deserving of a neutral or negative... however I don't know that USPS vs. UPS ground is any different in terms of speed. Has he left feedback for you yet? If not... be careful of retaliation feedback from him.

Give it another day or two and then go from there.

well, its not the speed difference im concerned about....im more upset about the use of a cheaper shipping service so he could pocket my shipping $$.

if he says "confirmed addresses onl' then dont hold it against him. I think ur frustrated with the fact that it took a long time to confirm it and he probably is edgy about talking to you thinking you will do a roll back on paypal because of your unconfirmed address.

shipping had nothing to do with it, buyers should only buy if they agree with the SHIPPED price of the item. If you've sold stuff on ebay then u would understand that fees arent charged on shipping. And yes adding 20+ to shipping to inflate hte price so you have to pay less ebay fee is what most people do. The price of the item shipped, as any other item, is still the same. DOnt bid if you dont agree

I'm only concerned with the fact that the listing said UPS ground, whereas he shipped it USPS first class.

File a complaint...
Let ebay take care of it. It might take a while. (thats assuming you get your cellphone). you should be refunded ALL of your shipping.

Huh? So you're saying that it's ok to state, "FedEx Next Day Air" as the only shipping option, charge $50 for said shipping, and then ship it USPS Parcel Post?

Somebody hopped aboard the retard-train this morning...

*sigh*

Update: Its saturday...and it has STILL not arrived....it was "shipped on monday", and even USPS isint THIS slow 🙁

this is really beginning to piss me off :mad;

Thats exactly what im saying. You can buy a pocket bike on ebay that is 99 cents "buy it now" but the shipping is like 250-300. That way, they get to list their item for praticaly free as the fee percentage isnt charged on the shipping. Obviously you hopped on the short sighted ignorant train. I've bought many things on ebay and doesnt matter what they say, i've had sellers ship it differently.

Did you get a tracking number for the package? If not, file a complaint with Paypal if it's not there by Monday. No tracking number, no package = you FTW.

I wouldn't worry about it then. If it gets there just be thankful it did. I would leave a neutral eval on his record so others know what has transpired.

well, it finnaly came....and im working on getting it functional....now it just comes time to decide what to do about the issue at hand (feedback)
