It's a bitch... I haven't figured out a good way to do it online with either DHL or UPS and taking the boxes to the post office/ filing out declarations simply isn't worth the marginal revenue you get from those bidders (at least to me)

They need to drop all that stuff for canada anyway and have a free trade area like NAFTA should be

well, USPS said they would ship it for $28 Intnl Priority

he said you can't track intnl items, but it includes insurance

so what if the buyer says he didn't get it? will I have sufficient proof to win a paypal dispute?

That's the main reason why I try not to ship intl, I had one buyer who screwed me over on a $150 item.

With the netherlands we have had good luck with high end network gear ($5000+ shipments).

We deal only with established businesses that can provide credentials and real forms of payment (CC, wired funds, etc).

For most people it's not worth it and if someone is willing to pay a lot more for items that are already available there you are looking at a scam.

Also you have to be careful of duties and the like, you can get tricked into being responsible for them.

Don't use the post office for anything insured. It's worthless in my opinon.

I bought an item from a serviceman at an military base overseas. It arrived nothing like what was promised.

In the dispute I needed to ship it back the same way it was shipped to me (USPS) and once it arrived they would (paypal) issue a credit.

The post office couldn't show it left West Palm Beach...a dispute with them takes a min of 45 days. Most places give you 30 days to complete a dispute. Not only did they take about 2 months but they were able to show they delivered it 3 days after I shipped so they would not honor the insurance as the package was not lost.

It was a mess and I was out $150 plus an item I could have probably resold for about half what I paid making the damages easier.

I called the base but they could not tell me whether or not that serviceman was there or not due to terrorism rules now.

Check on his feedback and what did you sell? Some intl people are legit, it's just that the item costs too much in their country.

USPS Intl/Global Priority includes somewhat tracking. You can enter the Customs number and you can pull tracking most of the time, but out of the country is not guaranteed. Hence they don't say tracking

With Intl/Global Expressmail it includes official tracking. BTW. EMS packages includes up $100 insurance free.

Again what is the item?

What do you mean it showed delivery 3 days after you shipped.

With global priority I have usually gotten packages to Japan in about 3-5 days.
