Hey all,
I just thought I might post up something here in OT to see if I can maybe get some good eBay pointers and paths to follow to increase sales volume. My wife has Mixed Connective Tissue Disorder along with Fibromyalgia, she was an RN but unfortunately, her diseases have been winning lately and she has basically been unable to work since last June-July. So needless to say, her loss of income hurts us severely. I am already selling a small amount on eBay in order to supplement our income (based off of my salary - yippee I am a lowly Senior Database Developer). I have been teaching her how to run the "eBay show" for me so that she feels like she is contributing again to the household income. I would probably say that right now I am bringing in about $200 @ month after eBay fees, PayPal fees, and shipping fees. I would like to take it to the next level and say increase that at least 10 fold (she was bringing in around $750 take home each week before going into the hospital).
Basically, I am trying to find information out on where to get products, etc. because I honestly feel that if I can just nail down a few more products, we would not only be a lot better off financially, it would help boost her already despondent self-esteem. Writing the auctions is not a problem for me, it is FINDING the products. I am just absolutely clueless and do not know which way to turn to start looking for products. I have looked into a couple of the "online wholesalers" and all I ended up doing was losing a "trial membership fee" to almost all of them, because half the time their wholesale price is MORE expensive than what you would pay retail OR the other half of the time is was cheap completely useless junk. I am located in Central Pennsylvania, so pretty much I am within 3 hours of at least 5 major metropolitan areas and have no trouble driving to wholesale sites if they exist.
Is there someone out there that would want to give me some pointers, knock me in the right direction, or whatever? I know that many "Power Sellers" do not want to give up the information because they do not want others cutting into their profit, but there has got to be enough people on eBay that it really would not matter if some tips are passed my way. If you do not want to post it publicly, you could always hit me up via PM or Via E-Mail.
Thanks and blessings in advance to whoever might find it in their hearts to help out, I really mean that!
