It could be an honest mistake.

How is he asking to pay? Just beacuse they're from another country doesen't mean they're trying to rip you off. :p

Ask him if he understands that you're in the US, and shipping will possibly be quite expensive. If he understands,

Ask him to send an international money order. Cash it, you have your money. Send item, get positive feedback, everyone is happy.

At least, that's how I would handle it.

Edit: Christ, you bunch of hardasses. I wouldn't want to do business with you. :disgust:

If you sell to him, make sure he covers the shipping cost. I'm sure it'll cost more then shipping in the US.

Well, if the auction specifically states I don't want to do business with you....
It specifically states "Will ship to United States only."

well, s/he hasn't emailed me back yet, so im not holding my breathe.

I'll probably just relist it and use the non-bidding buyer form.

Works fine for me, means I get more customers since I will sell overseas.:D And they usually pay more than US customers too.

I guess, but I would still give the guy a chance to explain himself and pay.

ebay should make some safety features such as if you're registered information has it where it's in Europe or something, and you try to bid/buyitnow/whatever from a seller who has chosen the option "ships only to usa", then the system won't let that person bid/buyitnow thus eliminating problems like this.

Furthermore, it will keep feedback ratings better in that stupid people who dont' read and then are told that they can't have the item b/c they didn't follow the rules can't leave a negative now.

slightly off topic, but why do so many ebayers say "will not deliver to indonesia?" that one country gets singled out so much. something about their laws?

A lot of eBay scams originated in Indonesia.

I can't see the auction (damn work filtering) but if it is a new member, then perhaps its just a noob mistake, rather than fraud. Its not like its never happened before.

If they do contact you - just do what Eli says, but tack a little onto the shipping to cover your annoyance ;)

I typically don't sell to overseas buyers, but once in a while have done so..........and it's true, they tend to pay much more than U.S. buyers for the same product. I sold a set of Cannondale frame stickers to a buyer in England last week.....he emailed me and offered 30 pounds sterling for a set I was expecting to have sell for around $20 or so. Just in case you don't know, 30 Pounds sterling converted to $52 U.S. ... it's converting at $1.82 per pound right now and Global Priority was only $5 to England. Wasn't a bad deal in the end......and he paid rather quickly too....better than most of my U.S. buyers tend to do.
