I just got this letter today. First time getting one, and I knew it was a fraud because of the address I was sent to when I clicked "go to billing". Can anyone tell me how to look for a sign of who it actually came from so I can contact the appropriate authorities? I tried to do a "whois" inquery but I'm not real sure how to look for the info to help nail this a$$

peace

OH... btw... here is a link to the fake page if anyone is interested (my god I hope it's a fake) :)

Well I'd just try looking up the IP and contacting the ISP that it is leased from. Other than that you can't do much as far as pressing charges. These kinda things happen a lot, just know not to put your info in there and move on.

interesting how the one piece of information it doesn't REQUIRE is your ebay username, when you fill in the rest of the form with gibberish and try to hit send.

I got that one today too. I promptly filled in all the information they asked for, it's for my own protection.

I've sent a couple of completed forms with lots of thoughts on how I feel about this scumbag in the required fields. I'm sure they'll never be read but it's somewhat satisfying to do.... :D

Strange ... that IP resolves to http://www.highspringsltd.com however http://www.highspringsltd.com is a totally different page.
I know if you view the source .... it links to a javascript, and in that link "yernadop" is mentioned. Google yernadop and you will find this scammer has been doing this for a while now.

Looks like this IP address belongs to Verio ... an email to abuse@verio.net hopefully will shut down this site ... ohh well, stupid scammers. I hope they all die horrible deaths.

There would be a lot less of them if people weren't dumb enough to fall for this stuff in the first place. Hope the a-hole gets busted nontheless.
