Why do people post feedback like this"AAA++++ trader". Why not just put "Great Trader would trade with again"??

Does this bug anyone else?

i use to do the +++++++++++++++++++

but then I started to use Sifli's rec's in his thread and love the responses I have gotten.

it's an e-bay tradition.

personally, I just copy and paste my feedback, unless something "out of the ordinary" happened with the transaction.

my big feedback complaint are sellers who won't leave feedback for the buyer until the buyer gives them feedback first. the way I see it, the seller should leave the buyer feedback as soon as they get their money from the buyer. I hate having to remind people that I buy things from to leave me feedback.
 
positive feedback is meaningless. The only feedback that matters is the negative feedback.

but having positive feedback helps to outweight the negative feedback. if I'm buying from a seller and they have 100+ positive feedback with less than 5 negative marks, I'll still buy from them; if I'm looking at a seller who only has 5 negative feedbacks, I wouldn't touch the auction with a 10' pole.

That's not true, since without positive, there is no negative. 😉

But I understand what you're saying. But still, you can't honestly say that, for example, 5,000 feedbacks with 100% wouldn't be impressive and give you confidence that your transaction is going to go smoothly.🙂

i buy more things than i sell on ebay, this is what i see.

I shouldn't complain, though... I have a second account with -3 feedback. a jerk of a friend once went on my computer and used my main e-bay account to bid on a bunch of stupid stuff. I had to make the second account to out-bid myself.

then I proceeded to beat his ass into the ground 😀

i buy more things than i sell on ebay, this is what i see.

I agree that's the way it is, and I say moo and follow the standard e-bay operation procedures, but I still think it should be different. once the buyer gives the seller money, he's lived up to his end of the agreement. even if there are later problems with the auction, the buyer still made good on his end.

ex: I left neutral feedback for a buyer a few years ago, because they refused to ship an item to my college address (since it wasn't my billing address). I got the item, which was why I didn't leave negative feedback, but I had to pay for shipping twice -- once from their office to my parent's house, and then again from my parent's house to my college address. because I didn't leave them positive feedback, they refused to leave me feedback, despite the fact that I paid them their money within 15 minutes after the end of the auction.

Why don't you just add your college address as a secondary address to your cc then? That's what I did, so I could still recieve stuff from online. I have YET to see a online store that will ship to a different address.

wasn't worth it. 4 years of college and constant buying of things on-line, and that was the only problem I had ever had. other than that one auctioneer, I've never encountered anyone who cared that I had different shipping and billing addresses.

Jeez, they are just asking to be frauded. Wait, did you use paypal or a cc through a merchant account?
 
kami333 -- paypal. I wanted to keep the billing address as my home address because otherwise, I'd have had to change it every time I moved (which was a lot during college). plus it meant less junk mail clogging up the small mailboxes 🙂
