16GB/512GB for $469.

Here's another one from same vendor, 10700 and RX 5700, may be a better overall choice under $500.

The price is moderate, and the included warranty is nice. The problem is they are really low on system RAM though to pass as gaming PCs, or even modern Windows PCs. Though I suppose one could upgrade the RAM without much issue.

The Doc's article shows the 10700 max draw at 215W https://www.anandtech.com/show/1634...e-i710700k-review-is-65w-comet-lake-an-option

Looking at that cheesy case, board, and cooling, the 10700 likely thermal throttles under even a heavy gaming load. Just the Spiderman games or Cyberpunk could do it after playing a while with crowds and traffic turned up. That's if the board will even feed it enough to reach max performance in the first place; my guess is no.

They are only charging you an extra $54 to add the A380 and another 8GB ram to that 13400 👀 That System should be beast for quick sync stuff. Price isn't terrible for people that won't and can't DIY.

I have an i5-10400 at work with Windows 11 that I occasionally have to use. Going from my i7-4770 Win10 work PC to that system always makes me wonder what Intel did wrong there because the UI smoothness is just not there. There's just weird all around wonky behavior with stuff not working as expected. It also has nothing special installed on it other than Microsoft Office and some dotnet stuff that my company depends on. My i7-4770 has a lot more stuff on it and it just breezes through everything. Only time it feels crap is when I try to use Microsoft Edge on it. My guess is same as you that it tries to shoot its boost clock a bit too far, throttles and then there's a sudden lag in performance.
