eBay bumping friends' auctions?

If you are one of the 10% of people who are ignorant to the world of eBay, lots of people "bump" friends' auctions, or people open 2 accounts so they can bump the other account.

How can eBay tell? Do you know anyone who has gotten caught? Do you think it is moral?

Ummm, that's pretty stupid.

It is called shill bidding and if Ebay catches you, they will kick you off, no questions asked, no 2nd chances.

Not to mention that if no one outbids the shill bid, and the auction ends, the seller will be stuck to pay the listing and final value fees. Unless they request to get them refunded, but they cannot do that without filing a non paying bidder alert.

🙂

edit: the only way for ebay to learn of this is if someone gets suspicious and reports to ebay. They are a self policing community.
