Ebay bidding question.

I don't use Ebay so I don't much much about it, but I was checking on a item being sold by a friend while he's out of town and the bidding ended today. IT goes like this

User( 0 ) $5,651.00 Nov-23-03 06:32:19 PST
user( 290) $5,551.00 Nov-26-03 08:03:59 PST
username( 0 ) $5,500.00 Nov-23-03 06:02:17 PST
username( 26) $5,100.00 Nov-22-03 16:03:40 PST

Ok the winning bid has a date shown on Nov 23rd but there was a bid submitted this morning before the auction closed? I know the bid two days ago was not 5,651 - but eBay now says it is. The last bid before today was $5,100.

Whats the deal for this? Is it a mistake or something I dont know about eBay.

User(0) had put in his maximum bid as something higher than user(290), so the date that he put that bid in would be the date/time that appears there 🙂

Confused

Ok that was one of the thoughts in my head, but I've just never used ebay to know. Thanks!
