EBay best offers ?

What's the deal with not responding to them ? A few days ago I got a saitek x52 pro for 90 bucks with shipping. They wanted $135 and shipping was $15. I offered $75.

This time, I want a track ir and this store or person wants $135. I put in an offer or 80 because I dunno what they go for. Looking at old listings I've seen them sell for that much too. No specific model.

No response. Can you cancel the offer ? Why do I need to wait 48 hours ? I feel like ebay slipped up from what it used to be.

Does the seller not set a max offer they will accept and anything below that will notify the buyer as approved or not ?

I think there's a time limit. Although, I just sold a couple of items on ebay and when I listed them I wasn't even able to find an option to list w\ the best offer.

If the offer has not expired, the seller can still take it. I've had listings in the past where an OK offer came in, but I'd wait a bit to see if any others came in before accepting the other offer.

You can set a min to auto decline and a max to auto accept but you do not have to and the system defaults to NOT using them. The seller does not have to respond to them at all if they don't want to. They may have thought your offer was too low are they are waiting to see if they get other offers.

Guess I will wait seems like this guy is the only one selling them and he has multiple listings with 10+ items in each of the same gadget.

I guess my offer will expire. What would you offer for this item? He has it at 139.99 but it used to be 134.99. Says best offer but I doubt the guy will even consider $100 or $110.

I just don't want to be stuck waiting another 48hrs if I send another offer.

I feel like ebay slipped up from what it used to be.

What an understatement, it's a peice of bloody shit compared to what it used to be.

On my own auctions accepting best offers, folks making offers have emailed me to ask if I was going to accept or not so they weren't left hanging out. I'd decline if I knew I wasn't interested.

Offering $80 for a $135 listing and getting no response is not an indication site fail as much as user fail.

Yeah maybe I should contact them? If he wants 134 or 130 I never understand why you would even put best offer in the auction. Clearly if you are accepting either of those 2 then set your buy it now to that and call it a day.

doesn't really matter, if you see it for cheaper/same as your offer buy it. if/when he accepts your offer you can take it or not. if you don't there aren't any consequences.

no shit. the op is pissed the seller doesnt want to lose money on the deal?

offer him $125 and see what happens. lowballing will always be ignored. i do it all the time. its a waste of time for me to respond to people who arent going to pay me anyway.

Not sure what they went for so I checked sold listings and I saw there were a few sold that low.

I know they may be busy but it takes 2 seconds to press decline and I would gladly offer more.

I'm not upset he doesn't want to loose money just that there was no response. Maybe I'm not like others but if I get offers I don't like I decline.

Having that best offer on the auction is dumb anyway. It's like saying yes I'll gladly take less than what's posted here. Like Im not really sure what I should get so just make me an.offer.

The reason people use ebay is because it's cheap or not available elsewhere, so a b/o should generally be made in context of the market price. Craigslist on the otherhand is much more ripe for lowballing, while a b/o on ebay, particularly from an established seller is good for scraping a little off the top, not much more in my experience.

i dont like the best offers thing either...

but as far as the no response.. you have to realize he probably sells a lot of stuff, and the offers probably come in often. he would spend a good bit of his day just declining offers....

Well I have 3 hours until it expires. He is the only one selling this item too. Looking at previous best offers he had about 4 others this month in total. 2 people retracted their offers.

I guess 120-125 would be a decent offer. Nice piece of hardware I could sell later when I'm bored or give to my brother since he is into flight Sims too.

I'll do that once it expires. I haven't used ebay in a while and when I do I usually buy it now unless I'm comfortable bidding. I hate that price war stuff sometimes it just drives up the price.

My biggest gripe with OBOs are the ones that autodecline anything lower than their BIN price. Seriously? Why list it OBO if you're just going to decline everything anyway.

Yeah that makes no sense but I would rather have an auto decline than be stuck for 48 hours. That's why I'm not making another offer of 120. I saw others retract their bids due to seller not being in contact couple months back.

Sucks he's the only guy selling. Kinda wanted this by next week as I'm off until next weekend.

I agree..... Put in Best Offer. INSTA DECLINE.

And I usually try and "Weak Snipe" those items.
Meaning on day 6.5 out of a 7 day Auction.
Listed for 100...Zero Bids.. I offer 80 thinking... HEY... Are ya felling lucky Punk?

But with neverending Free Listing & Or Relisting, I guess that tactic is a time waster.

Update...I offered 120 and the time is about to expire. Just a day ago I think the seller accepted 2 offers as he has multiple listings. I guess he doesn't wanna sell it to me. There are six other offers too I can't imagine they are much higher than mine.

I don't think he's singling you out. PS you can find those brand new on a few sites and there's a couple used listings active on Ebay as well.

I ended up getting one from another seller brand new. I couldn't find any used v5 models. Now hopefully I get it this week so I can mess with it.
