From the digg:

eBay is banning sellers from requesting payment through Google Checkout. The online auction giant updated its Safe Payments policy this week to add Google's new payment service, Google Checkout to its list of online payment methods not permitted on eBay.

Why hasn't Google gotten their auction site off the ground and put eBay and PayPal out of business already?

Google makes so much money off of Adsense ads for eBay that they wouldn't want to put them out of business.

meh. i guess ebay was doing the defensive thing by trying to protect its margin on paypal payments. it may take a while for google to overtake ebay as a prefered auction site. ebay has established itself as sort of _the_ place

Isn't this lawsuit material? There's gotta be an unfair business practices case in there somewhere.

It seems to me that it might qualify for an antitrust lawsuit.

And this marks the first time I've ever heard of Google Checkout.

We shall all honor this day of discovery you've had. We shall call it "Jeff Day" and celebrate by thinking something trivial we did has an impact of monumental proportions on others lives because we're all just THAT important.

Quick, someone add this moment in internet history to Wiki!!1
