eBay and spam

I use a unique e-mail address for eBay. After the now rare occasions that I log into eBay, I almost immediately start to get spam at that e-maill address. If I do not log into eBay again over a few weeks, the spam to that address begins to die off to almost nothing.

How do they know that I have logged in???


On a related note, I always seem to get each spam message in pairs (identical messages at the same time). What is up with that?

That's a fantastic question and I think the best course of action is to avoid eBay as they've made every effort to send themselves and paypal down the tubes.

I get them too, fake 2nd chance offers. The first time I got one I offered him $5 and it made him upset, lol.

However, the spam I get has nothing to do with eBay.
