No.
I am hoping to see a flurry of sales from overclockers jumping ship to Conroe.

How much of a price cut should I be expecting to see? 50% would be nice. ;)

I doubt they'll be buyers on ebay for that. Price cuts are old news now.

On a related note, DDR2-1067 is hella expensive right now, I can't wait to throw together a s939 rig with the low prices :D

Why would I buy a chip from you on EBay when I can get it just as cheap as you from Newegg?

Unless you buy CPUs of a certain stepping that are known to reliably overclock like mad and horde them until demand exceeds supply, you won't make any money.

Not large price drops?
3800 X2 from $319 to $170
4200 X2 from $367 to $193
4600 X2 from $557 to $300

...that's pretty big. The single cores just had one.

I don't get it, why would you buy high and sell low?

I'm slightly torn. I was "AMD all the way!", but with the release of the Conroe, I may end up getting one once the prices drop back down to normal.

The best thing to do is buy the AMD CPUs that have the 1 MB L1 cache since those will be eliminated shortly.

From the Shrimpi man himself:
In order to keep prices competitive, AMD is also killing off its Athlon 64 X2s with a 1MB L2 cache. By only shipping 512KB parts (except for the limited quantities of FX processors that are sold), AMD can produce more CPUs per wafer and thus help increase supply and offer lower prices.
