ebates offers 2% back at office depot, and 3% back at officemax

ocrebates claims to offer 2-7% at office depot, and 4% at officemax

i've never bought anything through either of these, but has anyone had any experience with these guys... i buy a lot of stuff, recently a did a lot with the tax software - but i didn't do anything like this to make it extra juicy.

curious to know what's hot and what's not... my random test makes me believe oc rebates is better, but ebates seems to be more popular. any reason why?

:);):(:eek::disgust::D:|:Q:p:cool::frown::confused:

I have never heard of oc rebates but I have been using ebates for years and have gotten many checks. Ebates is very reliable.

ebates is definately reliable. i've gotten just under a hundred bucks from them. AND they honored a mistake of theirs a while back (50 off 50 coupon at staples). good people.

Ebates has been around awhile, ocrebates is relatively new . Ebates takes about 50% of the total rebate from the merchant, OC Rebates gives 100% to the member, but charges a small flat fee when they cut and mail the check. But they also give you a unique URL like "laura.ocrebates.com" so you can send friends and family to your site to buy stuff.

My wife sends flowers and gift baskets from work all the time - she gets about 16% back on each, like clockwork.

They are only offering you the same percentages you could get on your own through affiliate programs and then adding a membership fee.

I only know about the Ebates. They worked very well for me. Good online tracking, timely refund check delivery.

Well, Ebates has a proven track record and this other company doesn't. In the past few years I have received about $600 from Ebates, and the checks come when they say they will.....:)

Ditto here on Ebates. I have been using them for a long time, and have never had any problems with them.

Fat Wallet fat cash is better than e-bates. Pays in 90 days like clockwork and pays with c2it or paypal ! PAYS MORE THAN C2IT !!!!!!!! -- 3 % at Dell for example -- 2.5 at Ebates. I have used both. Ebates is reliable too by the way.

if you downloaded the "moe money maker" by ebates, and when you were at site, let's say a review site A. You their information is good and decide to follow their referral link to merchant B, and bought a camera from B. In this case, site A should get commission since the sale was originated from A.

However, if you installed the "moe money maker" ebates get the commission since they automatically rewrites the referral link w/ their own link. Note that the user/buyer does NOT know that ebates is gonna get the commission and NOR does the buyer get the rebate from ebates since they did not go to merchant B directly from ebates.

ebates is not the only player though. more info at http://scumware.com.

Well I don't use that "moe money maker" thing (never heard of it). When I get ready to purchase at a participating retailer, I make sure to start at the ebates site and haven't had any problem getting my money. Ebates and the other sites are competing for referrals, ebates offers the most benefit to me as a consumer, therefore its my choice. I'd call that open competition in a free market, not "stealing". Ebates has been fine for me and I've been using it for nearly two years. Small purchases, like CDRs are chump change, but it can add up when you do something like build a new computer.

Never heard of ocrebates.
