Well (as im sure many of you know) i cancelled my digital camera order from dell after they delayed it for a month. The thing is, ebates just sent me a check for $10.20 (2% of the cost). I just checked my ebates account a minute ago and my account is now listed at -$10.20.

Does this mean i should cash the check and all future ebates purchases will go towards working off the negative balance?

how long does it take for ebates to show the amount you're gettting back from a purchase? I only used it once, and that was like two years ago, so I can't remember..I used ebates for two orders last week and nothing has showed up..

I recently received my $155 eBates.com check, damn I love free money!

If it were me, I'd e-mail their customer service and let them know what's going on. Advise them you'd like your negative balance to be corrected to show 0, ask them to place a stop payment on the check and either destroy it or mail it back to eBates, just don't cash the check.

Unless you're really dirt poor then I wouldn't cash the check. I would just e-mail them stating you received a check for $10.20, issued xx/xx/02 check # xxxx and you're going to destroy the check because your Dell order was cancelled and you have a negative owing balance, kindly ask them to correct your balance to reflect 0.

I'm in the same boat as Aphex. Dell cancelled my orders and i still get 2% back. They told me they stopped payment already.
