They "run out" of pre-orders already or something? The 360 and PS3 bundles aren't on their site anymore, just the PS2 bundle left. Damn I should have pre-ordered sooner!
 
Yeah, there was a piece not long ago saying that supplies of Rock Band would be thin.
 
I went to my local EB Games two weeks ago and they only had 2 out of the 20 XBox360 packages left to reserve. I got lucky.
 
Last I checked, your best bets are

Newegg, TRU

The following are no good:
EB, GS, Amazon, Target, BB, Circuit City
 
I pre-ordered mine while in line for the midnight launch of GHIII at Gamestop. I know Best Buy is having a midnight launch, anyone else?
 
I went to Gamestop to try to preorder on Monday but they were sold out already. Said they were only getting 6 games total for all systems. For PS3, they were getting 2. Said it shocked them and they would not even be able to fulfull the existing preorders, but that they were really trying to get a couple more.

I checked out a place in a local mall gameware, and they had 6 preorders left for PS3 and none for 360. So I got one there.
 
well i guess i'm going to take off work and wait before they open that day in case my GS oversold the preorders.
 
I'd assume they go in order recieved, but I would call them to see if they have enough and if not how they will deal with it.

Yeah I ordered and fully paid for mine a few months ago. I guess I'll just call them and see.

I just called the EB/Gamestop in Herndon, VA and confirmed my pre-order. I'm good to go. The guy said they're only getting 6 for each system and those pre-orders are maxed out.

I asked if they were considering a midnight launch and they said it had been discussed but there was nothing final. He said that obviously there are only 12 to sell, but they may still do it because "it's such a large item".
 
I would have thought since Mass Effect and Rock Band both release the same day that they'd definitely midnight release but it seems like it is up to each store manager.

That may be the case, but I don't really want to deal with the shipping of such a huge item.
 
I ended up canceling my Amazon order a couple of days ago. I have too many games to play anyways, I will pick it up sometime next year.
 
EB Games/Gamestop - No more Rock Band until next year.

Rock Band is going to be a hot ticket this year, and since Ben is handling the review, I have to buy mine like a civilian. I just got off the phone with the EBGames and GameStop stores here in town and discovered an interesting fact: The Rock Band bundle is going to be very?VERY?hard to come by this holiday season.

I preordered Rock Band the day before Guitar Hero 3 was released, and that has turned out to be a good move. I called up my local EB (staffed by cool people, defying the stereotype) to check and see if they were doing a midnight release. Apparently EB/GameStop corporate has canceled the midnight launch parties at a number of stores. Many locations are only going to get enough units to cover their preorders and then...

...no more units until next year.

When I contacted another local GameStop, they told me the same thing and informed me that they were only allowed to sell four preorders for the whole store. They, as well, are expecting no additional Rock Band bundles until next year.

We made a few more calls in other areas of the country and there are still some stores having midnight launches, but everyone expressed doubts about restocks. If you're serious about getting the game, make the calls to your local stores, and get there early.

I say keep it until like 12/7ish. Try to pawn it off eBay for a 100% markup. If things falter then just keep it as an xmas gift =D
