After preordering things through Amazon and getting them shipped to me well after the product hit retail shelves, I was a little leary of preordering EQ2 through EBGames.com. But all my friends preordered EQ2 through them, so I figured we'd all be in the same boat regardless.

To my surprise and delight, I got a shipping email notice from EB Games, with a tracking number, estimated delivery date of 11 Nov. Not too shabby for 3 Day Select shipping when 1 of the three days is Vetern's Day. :)

EBgames.com is good stuff for their shipping. Plus if you 'preorder' something, you dont have to put down any money towards it.

And I will go to a B&M store the morning that it is released and buy it. Pre-orders are stupid unless it's a special edition which you only get if it's pre-ordered (example: UT2004 SE)

On the flip side..I pre-orderd EQII from ebgames.com about 1 month ago - the collector's edition. Last night I noticed everyone in stores was picking it up around 7:00 pm. It shipped yesterday (i only know because I called) because I got a notice via email this morning just that it had shipped. It did not include any type of tracking information even though I set it up to be shipped overnight.

I'm actually trying to call now to get a tracking number, but it's just busy over and over. I'm guessing due to EQII and Halo 2.

*Update*
Got the tracking number. It's somewhere between PHX and Tucson right now. LOL. BRING ME MY EQ2!!!!

Amazon is terrible for preorders, just because everything has to wait for some reason before it ships.

EBgames and Gamestop great for preordering, usually if you get in early enough, you can get upgraded/free overnight shipping.

The thing I like about ebgames is that I can preorder a whole bunch of games with overnight and I will either get them the day they are released in stores or the next day. I don't have to worry about when they are coming out or whatever, they will be at my doorstep one day when I get home from work.

What's so "stupid" about pre-ordering?
