Eazy Cd Creator, multitasking and burning a CD?

I run EZ CD Creator 5 because for some reason Nero won't work on my latest box. I have pretty much the "latest and greatest" hardware out there - Athlon XP, 10k RPM SCSI HD, 24X Lite-On burner, KT266A MB (yada, yada.) Anyways, when I burn a CD I cannot so much as surf the web without my computer slowing like Pentium 90 loading Windows XP. On my older Athlon system I could surf while burning with Nero, is this a normal phenomenon with EZ CD?

My guess is it is EZCD, what crapshoot program
