EAX2 vs Dolby Surround

What's better between these two?

If it matters, I get these two options in Warcraft3, which is why I'm asking.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dolby Surround is just that, with no added game effects. EAX is surround, with added effects.

Really? I was under the impression that EAX2 was an API, just like Directsound3D(or something) and A3D. I was wondering if Dolby Surround was a different API or something.

Difference is Dolby Surround is just your vanilla positional audio replicated as close as possible to the original audio source. EAX is positional audio with environmental enhancements that alter the sound field to simulate specific environments. For instance, if in the game you are in a cave and hear a scream from behind you, you would hear a muted scream from the rear channels that might echo carrying into the front speakers, etc. etc.
