I have a Soundblaster Live Mp3+ sound card and can't seem to get EAX working in games. I have downloaded the newest drivers for my card yet when in a game (Dungeon Siege), it does not allow me to enable EAX. Any ideas?

I had the same exact problem and here is what it took to fix it:

Go into Control Panel ->
Sounds and Multimedia Properties ->
Audio tab ->
Sound Playback Advanced button ->
-Choose the proper speakers for your setup ->
Performance tab ->
Hardware acceleration slider must be set to 'Full' for EAX to work ->
'OK'

You should set the sound recording advanced settings to Full hardware acceleration as well.
